Post day skiing stretch…

Recover Better After a Day on the Slopes with These Simple Yoga Stretches
After a fantastic day skiing or snowboarding, it's tempting to head straight for après-ski, a hot chocolate or simply put your feet up.
But spending just a few minutes stretching before you relax can make a real difference to how your body feels the next morning.
A full day on the slopes asks a lot of your muscles. Your legs, glutes, core and back are constantly working to keep you balanced, absorb bumps and control your turns. Without a little recovery, it's easy to wake up feeling stiff, sore and less ready for another day in the mountains.
That's where yoga can help.
At My Life Tonic, we use yoga not just to improve flexibility, but to support movement, recovery and overall wellbeing. A short stretching routine after skiing can help release muscular tension, improve mobility and encourage your body to recover overnight.
Three Ways Yoga Supports Your Ski Holiday

Before your holiday
Prepare your body by improving strength, mobility and flexibility, paying particular attention to the shoulders, hips and glutes.
Before skiing each day
A gentle warm-up helps activate the muscles, increase circulation and prepare your body for the demands of the slopes.
After skiing
A few simple stretches can ease tight muscles, improve recovery and help you feel refreshed for the following day.
Our post-ski recovery sequence focuses on areas that often feel the effects of a day on the mountain, including the hamstrings, hips, lower back and spine.
As you stretch, breathe slowly and deeply through your nose. With every exhale, allow your body to relax a little further into each position—but never force a stretch. Everyone's flexibility is different, so listen to your body rather than comparing yourself to others.
Remember, flexibility develops over time. The aim isn't to stretch as far as possible—it's to support recovery so your body is ready to enjoy another day on the slopes.
Whether you're skiing for the first time or returning for your annual mountain adventure, adding just a few minutes of yoga to your day can help you move more freely, recover more comfortably and get even more from your holiday.
Enjoy the snow—and happy skiing!

Every Monday night at 7pm, we run a 45 minute SkiFit class which cost £8 for an online drop in. Give it a try to make sure your body is ready to hit the slopes this winter!
